Set achievable goals
Get together with your supervisor and discuss your work. What skills do you need to add to your repertoire and show that you can do? What is your timeline? Is there any training opportunities? Eagerly welcome new tasks. Everybody is involved a wide array of activities … some you may like and others you may not like. Do all of your projects with gusto. Ask for extra projects!
Do your personal best every day
Have a clear comprehension of your assignments and deadlines before beginning them. If you need help, ask for it. Doublecheck your work before handing it in to your superior. Ask for constructive criticism.
Be mindful and considerate of others
If you are the new kid on the block then you can learn from everyone, regardless of position. Show all of your workmates that you value their ideas and experience.
Be supportive of others

Read between the lines
If you are a new worker, you will need to absorb much information. Watch and listens. What is appropriate clothing for the environment that you are working in? What are the expectations regarding showing up and leaving work? How do things happen where you are working? How do workers get along with each other? Are there office politics in your new environment?
Be able to bend like a branch in the wind
You may be end of an assignment, when asked to start a brand new one. Understand that priorities change. Your capacity to change gears easily is critical for your success. Your superior will help you prioritize.
Choose a mentor for yourself
A teacher may be assigned to you or you may need to find your own. Always ask for advice concerning your career decisions.
Maintain records of your job success!
Keep notes on assignments and achievements. Keep copies of appraisals and also hold on to examples of your work. Request letters of referral when appropriate. Have all these things on hand for future opportunities.
